Do you often feel empty and disengaged from life? Depressed, even? Do you regularly get angry with people or situations and believe your anger is always justified? Do you pride yourself on always being a positive person who never lets sadness get you down? Do you wish you could manage tricky or confrontational situations better? Do you wish that you enjoyed a better, more fulfilling relationship with your partner or children? Do you never feel that you are good enough, no matter how hard you try? Do you find yourself using ‘should’, ‘must’ and ‘ought to’ regularly?
If any or many of these are true for you, I expect that your weekly schedule is so full that you don’t have the time or energy to take ‘slow time’ for yourself. And you probably overindulge in food, alcohol, retail therapy or worse, which leaves you feeling bad about yourself and out of control. Life seems like a tedious treadmill which you can’t get off – partly because you’re stuck and partly because you don’t know if life would be any better, anyway.
Sometimes you allow yourself to dream of a life that is full of joy, contentment and inner peace. But right now that seems unattainable – you just wouldn’t know where to start. Perhaps you are aware that there have been difficult and painful experiences in your past which may have influenced how you think, feel and behave….. you’re just not sure if you’re ready to deal with it all yet.
“After working with Lucinda for just 5 sessions I was able to articulate issues which had been bothering me for a long time and gain some perspective. Her calm approach suited me and her direct manner was just what I needed.”
If this feels like you, the first step may be simpler than you think. I know something of how it is to be in this uncomfortable place, and I also know that it is possible to get out and beyond it because I have done it! I have also worked with women like you and helped them navigate their way through their uncertainty and doubts to a place where they now feel much more content with who they are and the way they lead their life.
